I’ve purchased quite a few Procreate brushes from a company called Frankentoon Studio. They have some very nice brush sets that are very conducive to art inspiration.
I find myself using their products more often recently even though some of their brush sets have been installed for years. So it’s nice to rediscover them and appreciate how much they really elevate my own work.
The latest set I’ve purchased is an older product called Mangaka which includes many liners, washes plus halftones and textures that evoke the manga aesthetic look.

I generally don’t draw in the manga style, but I do understand how popular it is, especially with the younger set of fledgling artists. That’s probably why I haven’t purchased this set till now. Plus it really helped that they are having a 30% off sale to celebrate Inktober.
Speaking of Inktober, I’m getting set to publish a series of Wednesday character-themed illustrations throughout the month of October. It is a lot of fan art to make, but I’m prepared to put a bit more of a personal spin on them.
