I find myself using their products more often recently even though some of their brush sets have been installed for years. So it’s nice to rediscover them and appreciate how much they really elevate my own work.

It’s not easy coming up with a compelling concept for an illustration based on a single-word prompt every day for 31 days straight. But starting with Inktober 2019 and joining in every year, including this year in 2025, I’ve never regretted it.

I had been off drawing for quite a while as I was busy with a lot of things: traveling, spending time with family, taking care of business.

Outlines are elementary. They’re fundamental to most art. It’s where artists start. But painting, as opposed to drawing, is shape-based. To coordinate these shapes to work together, with their varied colors and sizes, and form an image, is really an advanced skill. I really envy people who can pull this off.

So this is my personal journal. If someone wants to look over my shoulder, I won’t mind.
